DALLAS
It's the first Tuesday of the month, which means it's time to party down at the Dallas Museum of Art's First Tuesday celebration from 11am-2pm. Today's programming includes art-making activities, storytimes, performances and gallery activities inspired by the sea and The Lense of Impressionalism exhibit. Free.

FORT WORTH
Brighten up the groggy weather with a trip to the Fort Worth Botanic Garden's Butterflies in the Garden exhibit, open 1-am-4pm daily. The tropical butterflies fluttering around in the garden's conservatory will dazzle kids of all ages. $1 adults; $.50 kids ages 4-12 and seniors; kids 4 and younger free.

NORTH TEXAS
Parents can learn hands-on methods for teaching youngsters new vocabulary words at the "Increasing Your Child's Language" presentation from 6-8pm at Trietsch Memorial United Methodist Church in Flower Mound. Free.
